Marley (Starr Davis) and her mom Olivia (Jania Suitte) move into a new, small town seeking a fresh start, but Marley struggles to adjust and longs to return home. On her first day of school, she is bullied by two boys, Jack (Kameryn Davis-Morningstar) and Dennis (Grant Camat), who taunt her with a story about a monster in the woods. Fleeing in fear, Marley stumbles into the woods, where she meets the very monster, they spoke of, only to befriend him and name him Max (Logan Edwards). Through their unlikely friendship, the story explores how the unknown, whether a place, person, or so-called “monster,” can be frightening yet full of joy if we choose to embrace it.
